Originally from Lisbon, Portugal, Claudia directed and edited many films, including 2 full-length feature films [‘Nights’, her first feature film, won ‘The critic’s week award’ in 2000 at the Venice International Film Festival, and ‘Us’ was awarded in Locarno in 2003]. Her feature films were produced by Madragoa Filmes / Paulo Branco and the films were screened in several international film festivals, on TV and Cinemas, while having a great support by film critics. In her work, Claudia experiments with fiction and documentary, blending genres, always pursuing and inventing low-budget film making methods. Currently she is embracing Web 2.0, directing and producing the web series of short documentaries LONDON GROUND. Claudia founded HOLON film LAB to produce micro films; a space for collaborations, experimentation and creative education. She shows her films online on her her web tv.

As a freelancer Cláudia works for Sustainable Energy Academy making videos for a campaign in low carbon homes; she edited feature documentary Changing the world on vacations by German director Daniela Kon about a NGO/social venture organization operating in Cambodia; she worked with Nick Diezel in Fairtunes, a charity project providing music studios for people in impoverished communities; Cláudia also made videos for dance artists like choreographers Pedro Pires for his project Edge and Janet Randell. Cláudia collaborated with Caroline Mueller in her piece Frau, an interdisciplinary performance that integrates movement, live cameras and video screens on stage. Cláudia has been collaborating with record labels Botchit&Scarper and Studio Rockers; she made 2 music videos for them. Claudia is versatile and dedicated, with excellent Final Cut skills; Claudia is specially interested in documentary and independent cinema, from socially engaged films to music videos, web series or anything that is challenging! Claudia also likes to share her skills and experience through workshops, she has been teaching at the V&A Museum, Space Studios, schools, youth clubs andshe does tailored courses to individuals, specially in editing and filmmaking.

Micro LAB: a space to work, edit films, create, give classes, explore, let grow! This is a space of confluence, to connect the dots, a hub for film projects, collaborations, share skills, give workshops, do film screenings, DJing and live cinema explorations. Using Final Cut Pro 7 to edit.

 

Mega LAB: I entered the 'Incubation' programme at RAVENSBOURNE COLLEGE in North Greenwich where I can use the facilities and resources: Computers, software and professional cameras.
