PRODUCTION NOTES
For the last 6 months I have been filming, editing and producing TIMELESS LAND by myself using my own money. The commitment to the project and the passion I'm putting on it are present in each image of the film and the process has been very rewarding not only personally but also in the way I'm stretching film production methods.
At the moment I need to fundraise between £5.000 - £7.000 to be able to finish the editing, pay a sound editor/designer, sound mix, make master tapes, DVDs and so on. I am asking for donations using D.I.W.O methods. It is important for me to conduct this process with integrity and respect for potential donors. The basis of this kind of involvement is to create a link with a community as an opportunity to reach out an audience and get support and feedback. I am also looking into having a charity involved so the donations can be tax free. As a way to create a fair trade platform I am offering special little presents depending on your contribution. read more here
D.I.W.O (do-it-with-others)
it's a new concept that pretend to be a sustainable alternative to film industry productions. The idea is to connect directly independent filmmakers and audience, offering tools for funding, promotion and distribution. The audience can take action, such as helping to fund the film through money contributions / donations or just helping to spread the word. Anyway the basis for D.I.W.O is sharing the work in progress of the film and eventually get audience participation, creating a 'filmocracy', a platform that puts filmmakers and audience in contact using the internet.
For TIMELESS LAND you can get involved through this web site and make donations through Pay Pay or you can do it through Indie Go Go, 'a social marketplace where filmmakers and fans connect to make independent film happen. Fans get the opportunity to discover and impact the films of tomorrow, while getting insider access and VIP perks for their contributions'.
background
After my second feature film ‘Nós’ in 2003, I decided to search for new ways to direct and produce films through alternative methods more adequate to the cinema I’m looking for: personal films, done on a daily basis. Since then I’ve done micro-films by myself or in collaboration with other artists, using a digital video camera and a laptop.
'Timeless land' has been the film I made so far which developed micro-cinema concept much further.
