DETOUR is divided in 3 parts linked by a fictional character. A character without projects, without name, without words, without anything; he seems always detoured in some abstract mutation, like a sleepwalker, like the characters of Samuel Becket, which inspired us. In fact, the concept of the absurd is the base of a search characterized by the apparent pointlessness of life and terror of "non-being".

Between love and madness, repetition and death, fiction and documentary, landscape and non-places, loneliness and the repetitive work of fishermen / fisherwomen, this film rejects drama as classic narrative and has affinities with modern art, where the human experience is seen as fragmented and purposeless.

The conditions of production, the low budget, the small crew gave us the freedom for making this movie as a method of reaction against an adopted and imperialist conventional way of making films.

DETOUR | TRAILER
DETOUR is the result of some experiences, like playing with the representation of actors and non-actors mixed together or pushing the boundaries of fiction and documentary, creating a new hybrid film experience using different formats like film and video. The film was made as a work-in-progress with different detours on his way.
