The first series was made in Philadelphia. Next one will be around the world. Other stories are being researched in Sao Paulo, Tokyo, London, Austria and Morocco.
The title is inspired by the book of photographer Nan Goldin (Ballad of sexual dependency). I want to portray people in some private life situations connected with mobile technologies. The film is composed by short stories with little plot. It all starts when I meet someone I want to portray somehow. I get together with the person, we talk, there’s no crew, not much preparation. We set some starting points and then we get together again and we shoot, we improvise, like a duet …

A girl just arrived in a new town 3 days ago. She’s alone in her room, still in jet lag, trying to sleep, trying to reach her boyfriend that she left behind. The internet doesn’t work and he doesn’t pick up his telephone, so she leaves him messages as she was talking to him, developing an honest monologue about her new life, her fears and expectations. watch

Noemi is a choreographer and master student in Philadelphia. She lives between 2 cities, she chose between 2 countries. In the States she feels the need of moving in linear lines, like the architecture, but she misses round space, freedom, natural heat. When she spends too much time in front of a computer, she needs to re-connect... watch
